HAVE YOU CHECKED?

IS THE LINT FILTER CLEAR?

On condensor machines, you can remove the condenser cover on the bottom left hand side to remove lint. On heat pump tumble dryers they aren't always accessible and require an engineer to strip the appliance and jet wash the system. If the condensor is not clear of lint, it will not dry the clothing properly, or in the normal amount of time. It can also be very dangerous and a fire hazard if not maintained.

IS THE CONDENSOR TANK EMPTY?

Condensor tumble dryers that aren't vented have a collection tank that needs to be emptied every cycle. If this isn't emptied, the tumble dryer will terminate the cycle.

HAS THE CHILD LOCK BEEN DEACTIVATED?

The child lock prevents the cycle from being started. Ensure this is deactivated. Not all machines have this feature so check the manual first.

tips and tricks for your
TUMBLE DRYER

Traditional condensor or vented tumble dryers use heat elements. They work by pumping in hot hair into the drum. The moist air is then sent through a cold condensor where the water condenses. The water is then pumped against the path of gravity up to the tank. Heat pumps use a gas system with a condensor with R290 F-Gas (or similar). The copper pipe work gets hot, heating the enclosure and evaporating the moisture. Other versions feature a condensor and withdraw moisture in a similar fashion to a traditional tumble dryer. Heat pumps are far more energy efficient. However, they are harder to maintain as the manufacturers make the condensor coils inaccessible. Curtains of lint block airflow and can cause poor results. In our experience, traditional condensor or vented tumble dryers last longer, but it is essential they are regularly maintained to remove lint.
